Chief Minister reviews the progress of Forest Right Act enactment

4.22 lakh Individual forest right certificates and 30 thousand 900 community forest rights certificates distributed to the beneficiaries in state till date

3.81 lakh hectares of land allotted through individual forest right leases and 12.27 lakh hectare allotted via community forest right lease

95 thousand 957 beneficiaries with forestland right certificates benefitted under Prime Minister Housing Scheme
Rs 365.80 crore sanctioned for ground leveling and related works

Rs 204.44 crore approved for tube-well digging, well and stop dam construction on allotted lands

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions to reconsider the forest right claims dismissed before and to pace up the distribution of forest land right lease. Mr. Baghel said that State Government has included review of the dismissed forest right claims under Forest Right Act among its top priority works. To pace up the execution of this work, all the departments concerned have been asked to work with coordination and provide forest land lease to eligible beneficiaries while adhering to the procedure. Mr. Baghel has directed Chief Secretary to monitor this work.
In the meeting, Chief Minister gave instructions to ensure ground leveling and fencing of the land allotted to beneficiaries under Forest Right Act. Officials concerned have also been directed to ensure tube-well digging for irrigation facility and provide seed and agricultural equipment to the beneficiaries for farming.
It was informed at the meeting that so far, 4 lakh 22 thousand individual forest rights lease certificates have been distributed in the state, under which 3 lakh 81 thousand 148 hectares of forest land has been alloted. Similarly, total 30 thousand 900 community forest rights lease certificates have been distributed in the state, and under these 12 lakh 37 thousand 822 hectares of forest land has been allotted. After reviewing and reconsidering the revoked Forest Rights Lease certificates, 26 thousand 924 individual forest rights claims have been approved since January 1, 2019, out of which 16 thousand 716 individual forestland lease certificates have been approved for allotment of 6 thousand 835 hectares to the beneficiaries. It was informed at the meeting that 10 thousand 727 community forest rights claims have been approved and 6 thousand 311 community forest land lease certificates have been issued.
In the meeting, Chief Minister reviewed the land development works done on the land allotted to beneficiaries, distribution of fertilizers-seeds and agricultural equipment, and the irrigation facilities provided. It was informed in the meeting that Rs 365 crore 80 lakh has been sanctioned for ground leveling and fencing work on total 58 thousand 812 hectares of land allotted to 49 thousand 762 beneficiaries under Forest Right Act. Likewise, Rs 43 crore 45 lakh has been allotted for provided seeds and fertilizers to one lakh 84 thousand 311 beneficiaries and Rs 4 crore 44 lakh have been sanctioned for providing agriculture equipment to 11 thousand 40 beneficiaries. Officials informed that Rs 204 crore 44 lakh has been sanctioned for 41 thousand 237 works of tubewell, well and stop dam construction for providing irrigation facility to the beneficiaries. It was also informed in the meeting that 95 thousand 957 beneficiaries with forestland lease have been benefitted under Prime Minister Housing Scheme (Rural).
    On this occasion, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Panchayat and Rural Development and Health Minister Mr. T.S. Singhdev, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Mr. Jaysingh Agarwal, Excise Minister Mr. Kavasi Lakhma, Food Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, MP Bastar Mr. Deepak Badge, Adviser to Chief Minister Mr. Vinod Verma and Mr. Rajesh Tiwari, Chief Secretary Mr. R.P. Mandal, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Subrata Sahu, Principal Secretary to Forest Mr. Manoj Pingua, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. Rakesh Chaturvedi, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Siddharth Komal Pardeshi, Tribal Development Department Secretary Mr. D. D. Singh, Revenue Secretary Ms. Rita Shandilya was present.
