DGP Shri DM Awasthi gave instructions in video conferencing for immediate action on women's crimes

On the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel on prevention of women crimes, DGP Mr. DM Awasthi today took a meeting of police officers of all the districts through video conferencing. He said that Special Monitoring Cell for Crime Against Women has been made at Police Headquarters level for in-charge monitoring of crimes related to women. In which cases of crimes against women such as murder, rape, molestation, acid attack and dowry death will be monitored. DIG, Neha Champawat has been made in charge of this cell at Police Headquarters. Shri Awasthi has also given instructions for the formation of such a cell in each district, in which a gazetted level police officer will be appointed as the nodal officer. Progress report of investigation of crimes against women will be sent to the police headquarters daily by the cell formed in the district. Mr. Awasthi said that if the affected women do not take effective action in the cell set up in the district, they can contact the help line number 9479191667 and email id of the cell formed in the police headquarters at eubachieu / hoopsbwau. I myself will monitor the actions taken by the said cell every 15 days.

    DGP Shri Awasthi directed that a woman cell should be formed in each police station in which the duty of women police officer should be imposed. So that the victim women can easily speak. He instructed that women help line numbers 1091 and dial 112 should be widely publicized by placing hoardings / flakes by identifying sensitive places in the district. Awareness should be spread in the rural areas also regarding the above numbers. Women patrolling teams should visit the sensitive places continuously and take immediate action on receiving any complaint. He said that crime research unit (P.S.A) is operated against women in 6 districts of Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Bilaspur, Janjgir-Champa and Raigad. 100% monitoring of female crimes by these units and inform the police headquarters daily about the progress of investigation. On this occasion, ADG Shri R.K. Vij, Mr. Ashok Juneja, Mr. Himanshu Gupta, Raipur IG Mr. Anand Chhabra, DIG Mr. O.P. Pal, AIG Mr. Mayank Shrivastava and police officers from all the districts were present.
