Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel arrived at Aundhi, Jamgaon (M), Tarra and Phunda, Cooperative Society of Patan Development Block in Durg district on the first day after purchasing paddy from farmers on support price. He inspected the paddy procurement centers on the first day of paddy purchase. When the Chief Minister reached Aundhi's money-buying center, the local farmer Mr. Shronit Chandrakar's paddy was being sold there. The Chief Minister met the farmers and Hamal and asked about their well being. Mr. Baghel told the farmers that I have come to see necessary facilities in the procurement centers for farmers. The government will take care of all the facilities of the farmers. Farmers said in a happy atmosphere, Chief Minister has come to see our procurement system, it is very nice to see this. The Chief Minister himself weighed the paddy of farmer Mr. Tokhanlal Verma in Jamgaon (M). Mr. Baghel rubbed the paddy and tested its quality and said the quality is good.

    The Chief Minister told the farmers during the inspection of paddy procurement center at village Tarra and Phunda that paddy is being purchased from the farmers in 1815 and 1825 rupees. The remaining amount will be transferred to the farmers after making a plan by making provisions in the budget. The government will take full care of the interests of the farmers. He met Hamal on the occasion and also took group photos.

The Chief Minister has instructed the officers and employees present to make all necessary arrangements for the purchase of paddy. He has said that farmers should not face any kind of problem and adequate gunny bags should be made available in procurement centers. Collector Shri Ankit Anand, present on the occasion, informed the Chief Minister that the tokens have been given. Paddy procurement system is being continuously monitored.

    It is noteworthy that paddy is being procured in all the districts of the state by the Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Marketing Association (Markfed). Paddy procurement will be purchased in 33 new centers started in 2019-20 this year, including one thousand 995 procurement centers operated in the year 2018-19. The premises of 48 mandis and 76 sub-mandis in the state will be used for paddy procurement centers as per the last kharif marketing year.

       In the current Kharif year 2019-20, 19 lakh 56 thousand farmers of the state have been registered, which is 16 lakh 97 thousand more than two lakh 58 thousand registered farmers last year. The state government will purchase paddy in cash and linking from the farmers of the state from December 1 to February 15, 2020 during the Kharif marketing year 2019-20. In the Kharif year 2019-20, themaximum limit of paddy procurement from farmers of the state has been set at 15 quintals per acre. In the Kharif year 2019-20, 85 lakh metric tonnes of paddy is estimated to be acquired from the farmers of the state.

    The Chief Minister talked to the farmers about the arrangement of Gothan in Jamgaon-M. He said that many farmers are donating paras, it is a very good thing. With the cooperation of farmers, the work of Gothan will be much better.
