Chief Minister attended volunteer group meet

 

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today paid courteous tribute to Ex-Prime Minister late Mrs. Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary and said that Mrs. Indira Gandhi showed us the path of far-sighted vision, hard-work and determination. We should make this our motto for development of the country. He said that we aim to build prosperous Chhattisgarh, for which participation of everyone is important. Chief Minister was addressing 'Vikas Sammelan'- the meet of voluntary groups of 'Vaani' organization working in Chhattisgarh, organized at New Circuit House on the occasion of Mrs. India Gandhi's birth anniversary.

Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Food Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, MLA Duo Mr. Mohan Markam and Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma, Chief Editor of Dainik Deshbandhu Mr. Lalit Surjan, Advisors to Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma and Mr. Rajesh Tiwari were present as special guests of the programme. Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that the volunteer groups and individuals who want to get associated with government schemes are more than welcome. Voluntary organizations should provide self-employment training to people in rural areas and ensure that maximum number of people get benefitted by the schemes.

Talking about Ex-Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi, Chief Minister said that she dedicated her life for welfare of poor and weaker sections of the society and sacrificed her life to maintain the unity and integrity of the country. Mrs. Gandhi's far-sighted vision and determination led the nation towards a new direction. She led the country competently even during the challenging circumstances. Success of green revolution made the country self-dependent in food production.

Mr. Baghel said that Mrs. Gandhi took difficult decisions such as nationalization of banks, discontinuing pensions of royalty. Bangladesh, India becoming nuclear power, are some of her major achievements. She was active in the freedom movement of India right from childhood. Mrs. Indira Gandhi was known as 'iron lady' for her courage and leadership qualities. Despite being a strict and disciplined leader but she had soft-heart for tribal people, women and poor people. On the occasion Chairman of Vaani Mr. Yogendra Pratap Singh, Vice-Chairman Mr. Basant Yadav also addressed the programme.
